Degarrin is overseen by the Divine, the all-encompassing entity that created us all. The Church itself is comprised of four main bodies: the Magistry, the Camarilla, the Clans, and the Plenum.
The Magistry is the overall ruling body, consisting of a minimum of one fully ordained minister known as the Magistrate. The authority of the Magistry is granted by the Divine, but freely accepted by the membership of the Coven. Members of the Magistry are elected by the Camarilla, and must have verifiable educational experience and/or degrees or credentials that relate to the interests of their position. The Camarilla is the second ruling body, which works in conjunction with the Magistry and consists of the Clan leaders, known as Primogens. A Clan Primogen represents the needs of its Clan and ensures that assigned duties are met. The Primogen may assign an Emissary to act on behalf of the Clan when he or she is otherwise engaged. All members who meet the requirements and have attained Clan status for a minimum of four years (or by approval by the Magistry and/or Camarilla members) may be eligible for appointment as a Primogen of their Clan. Members of the Camarilla must also have verifiable educational experience and/or degrees or credentials that relate to the interests of their position. The four Clans each represent one of the four spiritual elements and maintain specific functions within the Church. One elected Elder administers each Clan and is referred to as Primogen or Clan Primogen. Other Elders encompass the Clan membership and other positions within each Clan. All members that complete the required Seminary training are eligible for membership within one of the Elemental Clans. Any member who wishes to join a particular Clan must petition an interview with the appropriate Clan Primogen. The Plenum contains the members who have not yet attained Elder status, and includes the general Coven congregation. |
